2020 Key Report

Emigration and Diaspora Engagement to Promote Private Sector Development Conference report (IOM Georgia - EMErge Project)

This report is the culmination of conference held in November 2020 by the International Organization on Migration (IOM) Georgia and Armenia project Enhancing Migrants’ Rights and Good Governance in Georgia and Armenia – EMERGE funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hosted by the Government of Georgia. 2021 Key Report

Belonging, Hope, Potential: Eswatini Diaspora Mapping Project - Full Report

This report is the culmination of market research drawing on the International Organization on Migration (IOM) i-Diaspora survey tool and interviews with Emaswati living in South Africa. A market research project over six months conducted entirely remote during the COVID period, this project exceeded expectations on the number of diaspora reached and is the roadmap for the planned Eswatini Diaspora Forum in 2023. Migration and Development Mainstreaming: The Role of Local Self-Government - Full Conference Report (Tbilisi Event)

The 3rd EMERGE regional conference offered insight into the unique positions, capacities, challenges, and mechanisms for further cooperation of local authorities with a role in supporting migration and development mainstreaming. This final EMERGE conference was offered in a hybrid format online and with participants in Tbilisi, Georgia. A copy of the report is here.

2023 Key Report

Diaspora Development Forum Report and Diaspora Engagement Strategy for the Kingdom of Eswatini (Mbabane Event)

Following the inaugural Diaspora Development Forum held in Mbabane in March 2023, this strategy has two key aims: first, to present objectives and activities to effectively engage Emaswati diaspora in the social and economic development of the Kingdom of Eswatini, and second, the strategy aims to support Emaswati in their mobility and migrant experiences, reconnecting the diaspora to the Kingdom of Eswatini. ICAReAlumni - International Conference on Alumni Relations an international community of practitioners and researchers focused on Alumni and Career Development, with an annual conference in Europe and a supportive online community for former ICAReAlumni participants (alumni!)

Alumni Identity Blog is Dr Jay Le Roux Dillon’s blog drawing on his research on alumni identity. He will draw you in to read with his provocative titles and content.

Alumni Futures Blog this is a classic. The blog posts by advancement leader Andy Shaindlin chart the seismic changes in alumni relations over the past decade. You think the change is over? Not a chance! It’s what makes alumni work so important and meaningful!

If you work in an academic institution, hopefully you have access to library services to gain full access to the growing amount of academic articles related to alumni engagement, relations and the role of alumni within the academy, the community and the wider world.

Engaging Alumni for Graduate Success this is an excellent online resource that shows the many ways alumni involvement can be infused successfully across the institution to support student recruitment, student retention, success and even employment outcomes. Professor Jessica Vanderlelie’s efforts include open source materials to help institutions to maximise the engagement of alumni across the institution. Put this on your must-read list.

Philanthropy & Education Journal this is Dr Noah Drezner’s vision for a journal that focuses on two closely allied concepts together in one journal. There are few academic journals that explicitly mention alumni relations as a potential theme, this is one of them.
