Salary: €32,333, 23 days holiday with the possibly of a two-year extension

Business and Training Development Officer

KITE is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business and Training Development Officer. You will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of new business opportunities and implement effective, inspiring training programmes for diaspora, alumni or alumni-facing professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain strong relationships with our global client base, identify their needs, and provide tailored alumni solutions that align with their goals. This position requires exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for fostering professional relationships that lead to positive community impact.

We anticipate that there will be a roughly equal split across these three areas:

Business Development:

  • Identify potential business opportunities and generate leads through market research, networking, and strategic prospect work.

  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, effectively managing the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract closure (we use Active Campaign as a CRM for client development)

  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments to understand client requirements and develop customised solutions that align with their objectives.

  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations to secure new business partnerships.

  • Collaborate with the KITE team to develop and implement effective strategies to promote our unique alumni services and increase brand visibility.

  • Monitor alumni industry trends and identify new domestic or global market opportunities.

Training Programme Development:

  • Support the Managing Director in the design and development of tailored training programmes, including synchronous webinars, workshops, seminars and/or asynchronous masterclasses and online programmes.

  • Collaborate with Managing Director and other KITE associates (speakers and subject matter experts) to create engaging and effective training content.

  • Organise the logistics for training session delivery, ensuring high-quality delivery and participant engagement. Act as the online event producer (using Zoom).

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes through participant feedback, and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices in alumni or diaspora-related training and development, integrating new methodologies and technologies where applicable.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all business and training-related inquiries.

  • Conduct regular check-ins and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction and identify new KITE opportunities or training sessions to align to client goals and needs.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing client concerns, resolving issues, and maintaining high client retention rates.

  • Foster long-term partnerships by understanding client needs, offering proactive recommendations, and exceeding expectations.

  • Contribute to KITE marketing initiatives involving clients or prospective clients including the KITE mailing list, newsletter, and targeted campaigns.

Qualifications and requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or training development roles, preferably in the research consultancy or training organisation.

  • Strong understanding of business development strategies, market dynamics, and client relationship management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programmes.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data to drive informed decision-making.

  • A community building mindset and an openness to learning more about the potential of alumni and diaspora connection for societal impact.

  • Proficiency in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva and other relevant business tools. KITE uses Active Campaign as its CRM and Zoom for online training programmes. A knowledge and proficiency in these packages are an asset.

  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, training sessions, or professional development as required.

This is a remote position. You will be asked to confirm you have the required internet connection and up-to-date IT equipment, tools, and programmes to work securely at home or from a co-working location. Any work from The BASE Enterprise Centre, if required, will be agreed in advance and facilitated by KITE Limited.
